Soccer on Sundays

Since I was four years old, I have been playing soccer. It is my favorite sport and I love it. It helps me with my emotions and it is very fun. I play on a soccer team and we practice during the week and play games against other clubs on Sundays. Whenever I smell freshly cut grass it reminds me of soccer. That is why this picture of grass relates to my sense of smell.

Social butterfly

People call me a social butterfly. I have many different types of friends and they are all important to me in my life. I know most of the people at school and have a pretty good relationships with them. On the weekends, I socialize with my friends by going somewhere and talking with them. I have friends of all races and I think that this is great. In America, there are so many different types of people to befriend and that makes me happy to live here. Since I am around people a lot, I hear them talk. This is the picture that I chose for one of the five senses, sound. It depicts a group of friends ,which is similar to mine, and I hear them talk which is related to sound.

Soft as a feather

Since coming to School Without Walls Senior Highschool, I have started to enjoy relaxing so much more than I had before. When I am bored at school, I often day dream of coming home and relaxing until late at night. High school is much harder than middle or elementary school which can sometimes stress me out. When this happens, I get tired and fall asleep with my favorite pillow. Pillows are very important to me now that my academics have become harder. Pillows help me through the day and I love their soft touch because it makes me feel comfortable and calm. That is why I chose to put pillows as my picture for one of the five senses, touch.

Peppers hot as lava

My family calls me a "Bicolano", which is a local term in the region of Bicol in the Philippines, meaning a person who loves, and can handle, spicy foods. I put hot sauce on most of my foods which can range from rice to hamburgers. Peppers are my favorite spice and that is why I love Jalapenos. Without spice in my food my taste buds would get bored.

Joy of flying

Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. I love leaving America and finding out about new cultures. I am very fortunate to have parents that give me this exposure to other parts of the world, and I feel as though traveling has helped shape me as a person. One of my favorite places I like to go to is the Philippines. That is why I have a picture of a Filipino airplane during mid flight.
